Solitaire (Klondike) Tutorial
Needed
52 card deck; one player
Objective
Release all the cards onto the foundation piles in number sequence. Each foundation piles starts with an ace and goes up to the king for each suit.
Setup
Form seven tableau piles arranged as follows: one card in the first, two in the second, and so on. The top card of each pile is face-up, all other cards are face-down.
The remaining deck is placed in front of you.
Game Play
Cards can move around in three ways:
1. Color Match: Within the tableau, you can move a card of a different color on top of a card that is just one rank higher. (For example, you can put a red 7 on a black 8).
2. Foundation Piles: These four special piles are your helpers. Begin with an ace in each suit, and work your way up to the kings.
3. Deck Mystery: You can flip cards from the deck. You can do it one by one for an easier game or every third card for a bigger challenge.
Continue to move cards around in these three ways until all cards are moved to the foundation piles (win), or there are no more moves to be made (lose).
Rules
When every card of a pile is moved elsewhere, only a king can be moved onto the open space created.
A card can be moved down from a foundation pile if needed.
